who constantly jump and run can cause themselves to have a patellar tendon tear. With basketball, athletes have to jump constantly to make a shot. Athletes may not know that they’re damaging their tendons when they land incorrectly on their feet. The same situation can occur with volleyball players and runners.
The joy of the game gives outweighs any pain that they are feeling at the time. With any physically active sport or activity, the person has to constantly put stress on their knees. They are working hard to get to their goal and in the process, they are putting stress on their tendons.
Over time, the tendons not only become weak, but causes the person to be unable to continue with the activity he or she was doing. In fact, it can cause the person to not be able to be as active as they were in the past.
