3. Headache
Another unavoidable symptom of herpangina is a headache. Varying from person to person, from the forehead pains to all encapsulating migraine-type feelings, a headache is what can bring you down the most. Children with headaches will often appear quite teary and upset. It’s often easy to see when a child or infant is suffering from headaches, due to their furrowed brows and not quite seeming themselves.
For adults, a headache can seem like a really unjust symptom of an illness like herpangina, because of its striking similarity to one of the defining symptoms of a hangover from hell. The difference here is that there was no ‘night before’ and so the hangover style headache just feels really unfair when you’re used to having fun before its arrival the next day. Kids don’t have hangovers to compare these herpangina headaches with, lucky things. They will have one day, then they’ll be sorry.
