5. A Sip of Soda
You should have a glass of soda with every meal, too, if you find that you have problems with digesting your food and experience regular heartburn after eating what can be considered a heavy meal. The carbonation of the soda manages to break down food particles and make it easier for your stomach to deal with – but keep it down to moderate consumption, as the carbonation of sodas can also irritate the stomach lining and intestines and have the opposite effect.
Much can be said about how healthy soda is for you or not, but we can say that it does manage to aid digestion if consumed in small quantities with meals. Again, drinking soda only in small quantities is key if you want to experience relief from the crushing symptoms that comes with heartburn. The high sugar content of soda can contribute to developing issues with indigestion in the long run.
