The researchers instructed the women to drink cranberry juice daily in a volume of not less than eight ounces. The group that drank the cranberry juice showed reduced occurrences of urinary tract infections in comparison to the control group which did not drink the juice.
A separate study showed that women who suffered from recurrent urinary tract infections saw reduced odds of developing one within any given year after regularly consuming products containing cranberries such as supplements, juice mixes, and even the berry itself in raw form.
