2. It Reduces Inflammation
Fish oil is also well known for being able to reduce inflammation. It does this by reducing the ratio of omega 6 to omega 3, which can otherwise increase inflammation. Omega 6 is good for us and an important part of our diet but when we consume it in excess, it causes inflammation and thereby can exacerbate issues like joint pain and brain fog. Unfortunately, our modern diets massively favor omega 6 as we tend not to eat much fish and because omega 6 is used as a common preservative.
The good news is that omega 3 replaces the omega 6 in our system and thereby fixes the ratio, reducing the likelihood of inflammation.
