3. Hepatic Encephalopathy
The liver is a very important organ in the body. It is responsible for clearing the body of toxins and other things. It essentially flushes out bad things from the body. When the liver is not functioning properly it can cause many health issues. People who consume too much alcohol will often end up with the liver disease. Cirrhosis of the liver is common among alcoholics. When a person has developed liver disease it can cause hepatic encephalopathy. This occurs as toxins start to build up in a person’s blood. Once again, these toxins can travel all throughout the body. When this occurs it can cause a person to have damage to their brain. When this type of damage occurs as a result of these toxins, a person might suffer from memory loss, mood disorders, and other mental health issues. This can become quite serious, which is why it is important to seek out medical treatment for any symptoms you might be having.
