6. Muscle cramps
With all the changes occurring inside the body due to the build-up of waste products like urea, muscle cramps are a common side effect and symptom of the condition. The muscle cramps typically occur in the abdomen and can be extremely tightening and painful when they come on.
The difficult thing to do with muscle cramps, when it comes to diagnosing uremia, is that muscle cramps can occur for any number of reasons, such as overexertion when it comes to an abs workout.
As with any of the uremia symptoms to be on the lookout for, muscle cramps are most useful in obtaining a diagnosis when they are observed in conjunction with other symptoms and signs, as opposed to being seen just on their own.
Muscle cramps can be some of the worst pains known to man, especially when they occur without any warning, as they tend to do. They can affect all areas of the body but are most painful in the calves.
