14 Ways to Reverse Receding Gums Naturally

Search Articles Here

The term gum recession is used to describe the scenario in which the tissue that surrounds your tooth begins pulling back. This will lead to more of your tooth becoming exposed, and possibly even its roots. The most noticeable sign of receding gums is the gaps that it produced which could lead to bacterial buildup and other diseases down the road.

If you don’t treat your receding gums, you might face severe damage to the bone structures of your teeth as well as the supporting tissue. All this could end with tooth loss if you let the problem linger instead of nipping it at the bud. The reason that receding gums is such a common oral problem is that the onset is so subtle.

Many people who suffer from receding gums don’t even know that the process is ongoing due to its gradual progression. The earliest sign of receding gums is sensitivity in the tooth, though this could also be caused by other factors.

1. Sea Salt Rinse

One of the simplest ways to reconcile the issue of receding gums is capitalizing on something that covers most of our planet, sea salt. All you need to do is grab a cup and fill it with some warm and clean water. Add some salt in and then rinse your mouth out with it. This is one of the easiest ways for you to deal with your gum recession. Its benefits can actually go beyond the gum recession.

Rinsing your mouth out with sea salt and warm water could also help with inflammation and pain. There is some debate as to how long you should gargle the saltwater mix before spitting it out, but most suggestions average out at around 15 seconds.

If you’re in no rush and want to see the best results, there’s no harm in leaving it in for 20-30 seconds or even more. If you want to truly benefit from the saltwater rinse treatment, you should do it at least twice a day, but three or more is recommended.
