4. A Warm Bath
Thousands of words can (and have) been written about the many health benefits that a simple warm bath can have, and it’s one of the best things you can do if you’re suffering from the symptoms of post-polio syndrome. Muscle pain, fatigue and tension are some of the most common symptoms that people with post-polio syndrome will experience, although many other medical conditions might experience the same symptoms without PPS being present.
Having a warm bath can help to ease the tension in you muscles, and you can enhance the effect with the addition of just a few drops of essential oils added to the bath – just to name one of them, lavender is one of the best natural herbs for relaxation and de-stressing.
A warm bath can also be combined with massage, which can also help to ease the pain and tension often associated with post-polio syndrome. See a massage professional or take a simple massage course if you aren’t sure how to approach the issue of self-massage.
