3. Thin Lines
Thin lines are the most common symptom of telangiectasia and its how the condition gets the name spider veins. The small thread-like veins under the surface of the skin can appear red or blue and show through the skin. They may be short or long and can cover both big and small areas. The lines usually don’t fade or go away on their own, but in some instances, they may become less noticeable over time.
Most people find that they get worse with time. They may change or move around and even spread to other areas of the body. Some people find that they create a pattern or are more apparent in certain areas.
If the lines are present in areas of the body where the skin is delicate or thin, they may be more obvious. The lines may also become more apparent if they are exposed to sunlight or air.
