7. You Should Avoid Vasodilators
When you have low blood pressure, you need to be careful to avoid foods, medications and other products that could make it worse.
Avoid in particular ‘vasodilators’. These are substances that will widen the blood vessels such as beets and beetroot juice. Also important to avoid are blood thinners such as Aspirin Both these things can cause a sudden drop in blood pressure, which may be dangerous if your blood pressure is already very low. Likewise, be aware that some sports supplements contain nitric oxide which is a form of vasodilator.
