5. Anemia
Anemia is a common cause of low blood pressure and one that is often overlooked. Anemia means a low red blood cell count which is often linked with low iron, or which may also be linked with low vitamin B12. This gives you a clue as to how you can potentially combat the condition – by consuming more of those necessary minerals and vitamins. B12 is particularly difficult to get if you are a vegetarian, and likewise, vegans will miss out on many sources of iron. For that reason, this is a particularly likely cause if that describes you. Anemia will also make your skin appear more pale and cause tiredness.
Note that there are other causes for anemia too. For instance, if you have hypothyroidism, this can often lead to anemia and therefore lead to low blood pressure!
