4. Abdominal Pain
An Enterococcus Faecalis infection begins in the GI tract. The bacteria spread from person to person and is often caused by poor hygiene. People who do not wash their hands have using the bathroom can spread the bacteria by touching hard surfaces or preparing food. If a person eats contaminated food or touches a contaminated surface and then touches their mouth, the bacteria can travel through the digestive tract. If a person is healthy, they may not suffer from symptoms of the infection.
Those who have stomach problems or a compromised immune system are more likely to suffer from abdominal pain. In some cases, the pain may be severe, and in others, it may be mild and barely noticeable. As the infection grows and spreads through the digestive tract, the abdominal pain may become more severe.
A warm bath, a heating pad, or pain medication can help relieve the pain until the underlying cause can be treated.
