If you have an underlying infection in the body that you might not know about, it’s likely for the body to undergo several different symptoms that point to the presence of the infection – including the possibility of an increased heart rate. Infections are countered in the body through a fever, which is the body’s way of trying to create an environment that’s too unpleasant for the virus or bacteria to continue multiplying in, but a fever itself can be dangerous – especially when it’s being combined with a symptom like Atrial fibrillation.
Most infections are easy to treat, and you should make an appointment with your doctor for antibiotics if you suspect that you might have an underlying infection causing your health issues.
If it’s the cause, you’ll likely experience other symptoms in addition to just an increased heart rate, and it’s best to make an appointment as soon as possible.
