4. Feeling Thirsty
When the body undergoes a mineral and electrolyte imbalance, the affected individual might find that they start to feel thirsty all the time. In some cases, the patient may feel thirsty even after drinking a full glass of water. Electrolyte imbalances cause issues with the way the kidneys and the blood hold water.
Individuals with chloride deficiency may start to notice that they experienced the symptoms of puffy face and skin as if they are holding water subcutaneously. Even though the body is holding on to more water, it still signals to the brain that it requires more, and that’s why individuals will feel thirsty all the time.
Feeling thirsty is also a common symptom associated with diabetes or prediabetes. Therefore, if you notice that you are feeling thirsty all the time and you are also experiencing other symptoms on this list, you could be dealing with an electrolyte imbalance.
Given the severity of the situation, it’s best if you visit your physician for a blood work test to confirm chloride deficiency or a deficiency in any minerals or electrolytes.
