3. Soft tissue or skin infection can cause Klebsiella pneumoniae.
When there is an injury or surgery Klebsiella pneumoniae can get into the skin. It is a good idea to check wounds often. If they get dirty, bacteria can enter the skin. Some people with wounds, don’t clean them often. If they happen to get around a person with Klebsiella pneumonia, they will be able to contract it quicker. Skin and soft tissue infections need to be looked at by a doctor. A skin infection may cause swelling and pain.
Over-the-counter pain medication, such as Motrin and Tylenol may be able to get rid of the pain temporarily, but it can make the symptoms worse since it’s a bacterial infection. Antibiotics are needed to treat the infection. The wound needs to be treated as well. The doctor needs to tell the person how to take care of the wound, so bacteria doesn’t enter it again.
