4. Touch Therapy
In order to achieve the benefits of so-called touch therapy, you need to apply an oil or a lotion to the soles of both feet. This oil, which could be an essential oil if you like, then needs to be massaged gently whilst a little thumb pressure is applied to the particularly sore areas of the feet.
The plantar fascia, which is the well-defined cord-like structure which runs the length of the foot, all the way from the arch to the heel, is the place to focus the most attention on, as this is typically where the most pain is felt.
This is most easily located on the sole of the foot when the toes are stretched upwards, but even when it can’t be felt, massaging the area where it is located will always help. This structure provides vital support to the arch of the foot, and so touch therapy is particularly useful in relieving this type of pain.
