4. Tea Tree Oil
Much like the other ingredients that we’ve listed above, tea tree oil holds some potent antiinflammatory and antibiotic properties. A study that was conducted in 2008 by Australian researches concluded that regular use of tea tree oil can significantly reduce gingivitis and gum bleeding.
If you want to reap the benefits of this wonderful substance, all you have to do is add a drop or two of tea tree oil to your toothbrush, whether alone or in combination with your toothpaste. Once it’s on your toothbrush, just brush all areas of your mouth as you normally would. If you brush your teeth two times a day and use the oil each time, you should start seeing results as early as the first week, but we suggest that you continue this routine for a few weeks to get the full impact.
Even once all your symptoms have subsided, you could continue to add tea tree oil to your toothpaste whenever you brush your teeth as a preventative measure.
