Search Articles Here

The Natural Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke estimates that nearly 80% of adults experience back pain at some point in their lives. The condition indiscriminately affects people of all genders, and is reportedly the basis for a most job-related injury. The majority of back pains are mechanical in nature with spinal curvature disorders like lordosis, scoliosis, and kyphosis ranking high among the common causes of back pain.

Lumbar lordosis occurs when the spinal curve around the lower back arches inward too far compromising the spine’s natural S-shape. Lordosis subjects the spine to too much pressure causing acute back pains and discomfort to the patient. Severe cases of lumbar lordosis can impair a person’s mobility or tamper with their neutral posture altogether.

Lordosis treatment varies with the severity of the condition. Maintaining good static and dynamic postures can save you from enduring agonizing back pains in the long run. However, here are 8 Home Remedies to Relieve Lumbar Lordosis;

1. Vitamin D intake

Vitamin D deficiency is important to any person’s immune system, and is responsible for the formation of strong healthy bones. The sunshine vitamin is synthesized in the skin through exposure to sunlight. Additionally, one can also boost their Vitamin D levels through the intake of certain food rich in the supplement.

Inadequate levels of vitamin D causes rickets among children between the ages of 6 to 36 months. A severe case of rickets is known to cause multiple skeletal deformities like lordosis. Research has linked insufficient levels of vitamin D to low back pain- a symptom of lordosis- especially in postmenopausal women. Boosting your vitamin D levels is crucial in preventing lordosis caused by rickets. Among the foods rich in vitamin D include fatty fish like tuna, food fortified with vitamin D, beef liver, cheese, among others.
