14 Most Common High Blood Pressure Symptoms

Search Articles Here

High blood pressure is a condition that is caused by a build up of tension inside the circulatory system. This can in turn be caused by a number of things. For instance, if the blood viscosity is high (meaning it is thicker) then more pressure will be required to pump it around the system and your heartrate will increase. Likewise, you can have high blood pressure from simply having ‘too much’ blood. Fatty deposits that clog your arteries can cause high blood pressure and so too can narrow veins caused by vasoconstriction.

Whatever the cause of your high blood pressure though, it is highly important that you focus on a solution and that you address the issue as soon as possible. High blood pressure can lead to a great many different unwanted health effects and could even lead to a heart attack or stroke if allowed to continue.

The first step though? Acknowledging and recognizing the problem. Read on to discover 8 of the most common high blood pressure symptoms.

1. Redness

If you look very red in the face or around your whole body, then this can be a sign of numerous things including high blood pressure. This is because your heart is working harder and your blood is being forced through your veins and around your body and being simultaneously pressed against the surface of the skin.

We all know the kind of person who seems perpetually red in the face and this is how we tend to portray the blowhards and hotheads in stereotypical cartoons. It’s no coincidence: stress causes high blood pressure and high blood pressure causes redness!
