4. Posture
Remember when you were younger and your parents and grandparents stressed the importance of good posture. It turns out that they were right to do this. Poor posture is one of the causes of hip bursitis as well as many other joint related issues.
A person who does not stand up straight puts extra pressure on the hips. This extra pressure requires the hips to work even harder. When the hips have to work harder, it makes it more likely that the bursa will become inflamed.
This inflammation can cause a person to experience pain in the hips, pelvic area, lower back, and even down the legs. One of the ways to reduce the risk of developing hip bursitis is to make sure that you are doing whatever you can to take pressure off of your hips whenever you can. Sitting and standing up straight can help to alleviate this pressure.
