14 Bizarre Facts About Tummy Tuck

Search Articles Here

The tummy tuck is a reconstructive and cosmetic surgery that tightens the muscles that become loose after pregnancy or removes loose skin that exists after pregnancy or extreme weight loss. Sometimes, these muscles become loose or split and have to be surgically repaired.

These muscles will be weakened are separated otherwise and cause severe pain as well as a variety of potential problem areas such as bladder function, itching, skin infections, and more. Abdominoplasty is the official name for a tummy tuck, and it is something that you do after weight loss rather than something that is done to help you lose weight such as liposuction or gastric bypass.

Many surgeons are not willing to perform the tummy tuck until the weight loss is already been achieved and appears to remain permanent. But for those with excess skin or injuries, a tummy tuck can be a really good solution.

1. Fat Actually Gets Redistributed

One thing that you may not realize is that the fact that you gain after having the tummy tuck procedure will actually be redistributed to other places in the body. In addition, the fat which is removed in a tummy tuck procedure will not be coming back. That is as long as these measures are placed to ensure that weight gain will be distributed evenly.

Part of the reason for that is that there are fewer fat cells in the abdominal area because of the tummy tuck. So less fat will attempt to go there. But maintaining a healthy diet and exercise plan is absolutely vital to the success of your tummy tuck.

What you have to understand is that losing weight is an entire lifestyle shift. You have to be willing to make changes that are going to alter the way you think and believe so that you can avoid gaining the weight back and negating the tummy tuck.
