4. Turmeric Drink
Turmeric is better known as the spice that gives the characteristic yellow to a good, healthy curry – though many people also use turmeric to add the yellow tinge to their rice instead of using the much more expensive ingredient saffron. If you’ve never used turmeric before, you can find it in the spice aisle of your nearest grocery store – and the easiest way to prepare turmeric without having to use it in food is to steep it in some warm milk over the stove (or, if you have to, the microwave).
Milk helps to release the oils of the spice, and the turmeric itself also helps to settle the stomach and relieve symptoms such as nausea. Turmeric also has a general immune-boosting effect, so can help you to recover from food poisoning sooner.
As a warning note, there’s nothing that stains like turmeric: Keep it very far away from any countertops, cloths or plastic. At least the ones you want to keep.
