Elevating your knee can reduce the swelling. It is a good idea to raise it above your heart for the best results. You can place two pillows underneath your knee and elevate it at 45-degrees. It is best to elevate the leg at night, but it can be done at any time of the day. The more you elevate your leg, the swelling of the knee will go down quicker.
Athletes who are still in school should elevate their leg in class and in the cafeteria. The instructors know your condition, so it shouldn’t be an issue. Even during practice, you can elevate your leg and work on other leg that is still good.
