4. Acute Cholangitis
You might also find that acute cholangitis is the cause of the gallbladder pain that you are experiencing. This happens when you get an infection in the common bile duct.
We will notice that all of these things are connected. For example, an obstructing gallstone can yet again be the underlying cause of this as well. However, that is not the only thing that can cause acute cholangitis. It can also happen due to a stricture in the bile duct or various forms of cancer.
If this is the cause of the gallbladder pain, then you are usually going to be feeling and in the upper right side of the abdomen and it will be accompanied by fever and jaundice or yellowing of the eyes; which is a result of liver failure. In severe cases, low blood pressure and mental confusion may be symptoms as well.
