Anaplasmosis occurs when you are bitten by a tick. You may not know that you have been bitten until you start showing signs that may need medical attention. The reason for getting sick is because once the tick bites you, it gets into your bloodstream. Depending on how your immune system fights off diseases will tell what kind of symptoms you may experience.

There are many ways that a tick can get on your skin, such as walking your dog, being around someone who has a dog, or being outside for a long period of time. The only way to cure anaplasmosis is to get a prescription for Doxycycline.

Early signs of anaplasmosis occur one to five days after being bit by a tick. Once you clear anaplasmosis, you’ll need to take steps to not get it again, such as wearing protective clothing or spraying Permethrin on your clothing.

Here are eight signs of anaplasmosis.

1. Fever and chills are signs that you have anaplasmosis.

The fever and chills occur because the tick bite has entered your bloodstream and caused the symptoms. When you have a fever or chills, you may take Ibuprofen or Tylenol. It may temporarily help the fever and chills, but it will come back. That is the time to go to the doctor to see what is going on with you. The doctor will take blood to see what is wrong with you.

When the blood test comes back it will show that you have anaplasmosis. Even if you don’t have animals, you may wonder how you got a tick bite. The doctor should explain to you the ways a tick can get onto your skin. The doctor will also tell you ways you can prevent having another round of anaplasmosis. You’ll also receive prescription medication to help clear the problem.

2. Vomiting is a sign that you must have anaplasmosis.

The sight of food will make you sick. Vomiting can occur even if you don’t eat anything. Constantly vomiting should be handled by the doctor. If you can’t get to the doctor, ask your pharmacist what is good to stop vomiting. Over-the-counter medicines can help until you see the doctor. Even if the vomiting goes away, you still need to see the doctor because anaplasmosis instills in your body.

By not getting it treated, it can cause serious illnesses, such as death. You will notice since you are vomiting a lot and not eating that you are losing weight. It is not good to lose too much weight at one time. It can mess up your organs and cause additional health problems in the future.

While you are vomiting, you’ll need to stay home from work or school until it goes away.

3. Aching muscles are on the signs of anaplasmosis.

Anaplasmosis is taking over your body and making your muscles ache. Even if you stretch to try to help your muscle aches, it won’t do any good. There is no need to rub topical muscle rubs onto your skin. Since you have muscle aches, it may have you bedridden for a while. This should concern you, especially if you are normally physically active and all of a sudden you can barely get out of bed.

A relative or friend may have to take you to the hospital or primary physician because the muscle aches may be too painful for you to drive yourself.

After taking medical tests, the physician will tell you that you have anaplasmosis. He or she will ask you if you have animals or have been in a grassy area. If so, that is how you got anaplasmosis in the first place.

4. Severe headache is a sign that anaplasmosis is in your body.

With a severe headache, you will be bedridden until you seek medical attention. At first, you may take over-the-counter pain relievers, including Ibuprofen. Over-the-counter pain medicines may not do the trick. You may be tempted to take more, but that’s not a good idea. You’ll get sick and start to vomit because too much medication is in your body.

Dizziness can occur with a severe headache. It is a good idea to not try to drive or walk anywhere alone. Always have someone with you when you take a walk and let someone else drive for you. When you have a severe headache, it may go away for a few minutes, but come back even stronger.

Once you notice that your headache isn’t going away, talk with your doctor. He or she may give you some pain medicine, but blood tests need to be done.

5. Loss of appetite is sign anaplasmosis is taking over your body.

The tick bite has made you so sick that the sight of food takes your appetite. You’ll start losing weight because you’re not eating anything. Even drinking water may be difficult. By not eating and drinking water for a long period of time can cause you to become dizzy and faint. You’ll need to stay home in bed until you can get to a doctor.

It is not a good idea to wait too long to see a doctor since you’re not eating or drinking. Your organs may start to get affected and shut down completely. This can lead to other medical issues or even death.

Once you get to the doctor, he or she may give you a medicine to increase your appetite, along with Doxycycline. Both medicines working in your body should start to bring back your appetite.

6. Diarrhea is a sign that anaplasmosis is working in your body.

Diarrhea can happen at any time and anywhere. The color of your bowel movements may be a different color as well, so always look to see what color it is. Write it down, so that when you go to the doctor, he or she may have an idea what you may have. Without taking a blood test, the doctor may think you have a bug. You have a tick bite that needs to be dealt with. Even if the doctor suggests you have a bug, diarrhea will still occur.

In fact, diarrhea may become severe if it isn’t taken care of. Going to the hospital may be your only choice because the physicians will take blood and imaging tests.

They will find out exactly what is going on with you. After a few hours, you may be released and given a prescription for Doxycycline.

7. Bleeding problems are a serious sign that you have anaplasmosis.

The bleeding may occur anywhere, including through your nose, mouth, and rectum. You may not pay too much attention if you’re bleeding from the nose. A lot of people have bloody noses and it goes away. When it occurs in the rectum, you’ll need to have it checked out. Wearing adult diapers may be a temporary solution. This can be embarrassing for someone who is young, but if you don’t wear them, they will go through your clothes.

Going to the hospital is the best solution, since your primary physician may not have the best treatment for you. At the hospital, you may have to have your rectum looked at. It may be uncomfortable unless they give you some pain medication before the procedure is done.

Anaplasmosis will be diagnosed and since you’re bleeding, you may be required to stay in the hospital until the bleeding goes away.

""

8. Breathing problems are another sign that you have anaplasmosis.

Oxygen will have a difficult time getting to the lungs. Oxygen from the hospital is the only way to solve the problem. Instead of oxygen getting your lungs, you’re producing too much carbon dioxide. Once you start having trouble breathing, don’t delay because it can cause death.

Hospitalization is needed because they’ll need to check the reason why you are unable to breathe. You’ll need to stay in the hospital overnight or maybe a couple of days until your breathing is normal again. When you are in the hospital,

Doxycycline will be administered, along with any other medicines that will help with your breathing. When you are released, you may need to have an oxygen tank since there may be damage to the lungs for waiting too long to get treatment for anaplasmosis. The use of the oxygen tank may be permanent

9. Organ Failure

Like any other disease, Anaplasmosis requires early diagnosis and treatment to clear the bacteria from the body. Most people that experience the onset of Anaplasmosis go to their doctor for treatment at around the second or third week when they realize something is wrong.

The doctor will ask you if you’ve been to high-risk areas where you might experience a tick bite during their diagnosis. They use blood tests to confirm the diagnosis. However, some people may brush off the initial symptoms of Anaplasmosis as just a persistent cold. As a result, they decide to delay diagnosis.

Some people may avoid getting a diagnosis for months until they start to experience complications from the disease. Patients that get a late-stage diagnosis of Anaplasmosis will always have a more severe outcome than those that get an early diagnosis.

Putting off going to the doctor for too long could result in the bacteria causing the shutdown of the kidneys, leading to renal failure. Even if the patient survives, they may experience permanent damage to the kidneys.

10. Long-Term Effects of Anaplasmosis

Lyme Disease is another tick-borne pathogen causing massive problems with health across the United States. Like Anaplasmosis, Lyme Disease infections are rising thanks to thriving deer populations across the United States.

When it comes to long-term or “long-haul” tick-borne disease cases, Lyme Disease is the most prevalent illness causing these prolonged symptoms in infected individuals. Some people may experience symptoms for years after the initial infection.

While the media likes to cover Lyme Disease and its long-haul effects in patients, they hardly ever cover anaplasmosis long-haul cases. However, the long-haul cases with Anaplasmosis are rare, and it’s uncommon for people that catch the disease early to experience any lasting effects.

However, individuals who fail to get an early diagnosis and remain untreated can experience symptoms like stiff and sore joints and muscles, neurological problems, and even kidney failure. In rare cases, Anaplasmosis can result in meningitis and the swelling of the brain.

11. Risk Factors for Anaplasmosis

Just like with any other disease, there are a set of risk factors that make some people at higher risk of developing Anaplasmosis than others. If you find yourself on the high-risk list mentioned below, make sure you take the necessary precautions for your safety and health when on public land.
