The feeling of being tired all of the time can take a toll on your mental and social life. When you’re tired all of the time, you won’t be able to get your work done. Your boss may decide that you need to go home or even fire you. On the other hand, friends and relatives may believe you’re not interested in them anymore. It is important to find the root cause of why you’re always tired. That way you can go back to living your life. When it comes to feeling tired, there are a number of symptoms you may experience.

You may not experience them all, but it’s still important to know what they are. Once you know what the symptoms are, you can find ways to fix it. You may not be able to fix it right away, but you can take steps to fix it.

Here are eight common symptoms of why you may be always tired.

1. Poor concentration is a common symptom of why you may always be tired.

When you’re tired, you won’t be able to concentrate on things you need to do, such as writing a report for school or work. Your mind will constantly wander. When someone says something to you, it will take you a while to understand what was said. You’ll have to ask the person what he or she wanted you to do. This can frustrate the person that is telling you how to do a task. It is a good idea to stand up and stretch often.

Go outside and get some air. Ask the person in charge if it’s alright to go outside to get some air. A lot of times when air gets onto your face, you’ll able to concentrate more. When you get back to your desk, you should feel much better. Before starting a task, read the instructions first and start working on it.

""

2. Chronic sleepiness or tiredness is a common symptom.

Looking at a screen all day will make the symptom worse. You’ll start to halfway close your eyes or put your head on the desk to go to sleep. Someone will have to constantly wake you up. The reason you’re tired is that you didn’t get enough sleep the night before. If you did get any sleep, you probably woke up several times and couldn’t go back to sleep.

At work, it is important to listen to what is being said because the company has to run smoothly. For instance, in most jobs they have meetings. At the meeting, your eyes may close. You may be one of the people that have to lead the meeting.

On the other hand, you may want to contribute to the well-being of the company, but your opinion doesn’t get said because you were sleeping the entire time.

3. Hallucinating is another common symptom of why you may be always tired.

You may believe you see or hear things that aren’t there. When you wake up, you may another person if he or she heard or saw that. This may cause the person to be concerned about you and tell the person in charge. They may think you need psychological help. You may even call out when you hear something. For instance, you may ask the other person if he or she called you, when in fact, no one said anything.

You may even think you saw something running across the floor. After a while, it will become irritating for the people around you. It could cause you to lose your job or get evaluated for mental illness. When you get evaluated, the psychologist will find out that you are tired because you’re not getting enough sleep at night.

""

4. Low motivation is another common symptom of why you could be always tired.

When you are tired all of the time, you won’t be motivated to do things you once loved, such as cooking or exercising for example. You may have once been the life of the party, but now you turn friends and relatives down when they have get-togethers. At work or school, your work will get behind because you have no interest in doing it. The work won’t get done until the night before.

The person in charge will be able to tell how much effort was put into the work because it may not even pertain to what the topic is about. The person in charge may ask you what is wrong. This isn’t like you. You may become irritated with the person and walk out of the room. This can cause more problems for you in the end.

""

5. Headache is a common symptom that you may be experiencing because of always being tired.

Headache is caused by not getting enough sleep at night. Your body is low in energy and causes the headache. You can take over-the-counter pain medicine, but it’s not good to take for longer than seven days. The headache will go away on its own once you get some rest. With a headache, you’ll need to lie down all of the time. The headache may become intense and cause you to have to go home. Even if you get to lie down for a bit when you get back up, the headache will come back.

The headache may become so intense that it could cause you to vomit. Your blood sugar will rise because of not getting enough rest. Drinking water may help your headache for a while, but the best medicine for you is rest.

""

6. Dizziness is a common symptom of always feeling tired.

Since you were not able to sleep the night before, when you rise, you will become dizzy. You’ll need to lie back down to prevent from falling. Your body will get hot because of being dizzy. Lie down for a while to see if it helps, but in most cases, it won’t. It may be a good idea for someone to drive you to the emergency room if the dizziness doesn’t go away in a few hours. The doctor will give you pills for the dizziness and sleeping pills. The pills may help with your sleeping as well.

At the hospital, they will check you thoroughly to make sure the dizziness isn’t caused by something else. It’s important to let the doctors know that you haven’t been sleeping well. That way they can diagnose you correctly and give you the right medication.

""

7. Loss of appetite is a common symptom you may have when you’re always tired.

You will end up skipping meals because you are always tired. You would rather rest than eat. When breakfast, lunch, and dinner rolls around, you may try to force yourself to eat small portions of food. You may not even eat that. You’ll end up losing a lot of weight in the process. Since you’re not eating properly, you’ll feel sick because your body isn’t getting the fuel it needs. Your stomach will growl, but you still won’t have an appetite.

Once you get the proper rest and night, your appetite will increase. Even if you go home and sleep during the day, it will just cause you to be up all night. When it’s time for you to do your daily tasks, you’ll be tired all over again. Force yourself to stay awake during the day, even if you’re tired, so you can sleep all through the night.

""

8. Mood changes occur when you are always tired.

Tiredness causes you to feel as if everyone is hassling you, but they really are just being normal. For instance, a relative or friend may ask you a simple question and you fuss at them for no reason. When people are around you, you always had a mad look on your face. You hope that no one bothers you. When someone does, you’ll become irritated because you feel as if the person should know the answer already.

It is even worse if you have to work with clients because it can cause you to lose them. Whenever clients come into your office, they expect you to give them the best customer service possible. If you don’t take the time to help them, they can report or not come to your business again. At the time it won’t matter to you because you are tired.

""

9. Memory loss is likely when you are always tired.

A gradual (and eventually complete) loss of focus isn’t the only way in which your brain can be affected when you aren’t getting enough sleep. Memory loss is a common symptom that can be associated with not getting enough sleep.

You’re far more likely to forget where you put your keys if you haven’t been getting the amount of sleep that your body needs. First, it’s simple losses of concentration like these, but if you stay awake even longer than this, it can start to affect your memory in much more severe ways.

Studies done on sleep deprivation show a definite link between how much sleep you’re getting and how well your brain is able to function in terms of memory the next day. “Power napping” can be one technique that helps to keep the brain sharp even when there isn’t enough time available for a full night’s sleep – when students spend all night studying for a test, for example.

""

10. Depression can be an associated condition when you are always tired.

Depression is a condition that affects thousands of people all over the world. It can affect you at any age or point in your life, and it can have a variety of different causes. It can also be a temporary condition that can go away with treatment and temporary medication, but it can also be a chronic condition that sticks around for life.

Where the condition is chronic, it can be controlled with medication and lifestyle changes. These changes are usually minor and include things like a healthy diet – and making extra sure that you get the right amount of sleep every day.

Often times where depression is an issue, you’re not just “feeling down”, but there is actually a condition causing it. .The first vital thing to realize is that this means the condition can be properly diagnosed and treated, helping you to return to a normal life again.

""

11. Mental dissociation can happen when you are always tired.

Mental dissociation describes a psychological state of mind where a person no longer feels a part of their surroundings. Many people who suffer from the problem has described it as experiencing their life as a movie or role that they are experiencing from far away instead of living through – and it can be both confusing and crippling.

It can oftentimes be associated with mental health conditions like schizophrenia and depression, but it can also be a temporary condition that’s caused when you aren’t getting enough sleep.

Dissociation happening due to sleep deprivation is very serious, and only one part of a series of symptoms that you are likely to experience if you were to stay awake beyond this point.

Usually, where the right medication is prescribed or sleeping patterns return to normal, the feeling of breaking away from your reality usually goes away by itself. Where it doesn’t, make another appointment with your doctor.

""

12. Slower wound healing is likely to happen when you are always tired.

The brain and body does most of its healing when the body is asleep. This is why the first recommendation for getting better when you are sick is to get enough – or more than enough – rest for at least a few weeks to a few months; this is also why many health conditions will warrant getting booked off from work for at least a partial section of the time that’s needed to heal properly.

When awake, the body uses most of its energy for the brain and bodily functions. This doesn’t leave a lot of energy leftover in order to heal. However, when the body is asleep, things like movement aren’t taking up most of your body’s resources – and it can use the energy in order to get better at a faster rate.

If you’re trying to heal from something and not getting enough sleep in the process, there are many great natural methods which can help, including herbal teas and tinctures.

""

13. Seizures are more likely to happen to you when you are always tired.

Seizures and strokes are both a form of an electrical storm that happens on the brain: Stimuli becomes so overwhelming for the brain that it causes a heavy electrical storm, which can literally appear to “knock out the power” for a few seconds to minutes – and this is what causes most seizures.

Epilepsy is only one condition that’s known to cause seizures. There are others, but this is the most common one. If you already have an epilepsy diagnosis, then being tired and out of sleep for long periods of time can put you at an increased risk of having seizures even where you are taking the right medication to control your condition.

Remember that seizures aren’t always severe and of the “grand mal” type. Many other times, they can also appear to be just a few seconds to minutes of “zoning out.” Yes, these lost moments could actually be seizures.

""

14. Slowed reactions are very likely when you are always tired.

Your reaction time is directly related to how quickly your brain is able to process different stimuli. When you’re awake and have had your fair share of sleep for the night, you’re more likely to have the right answer at the tip of your tongue when someone insults you – and you’re more likely to be able to react fast enough to avoid a car accident on the road.

Those are just two examples of ways in which your reaction time can be affected, although there are plenty more.

When you are tired, your reactions aren’t as fast as they should be, and the more tired you become, the more likely your reactions are to be slowed down even further. A tired body and mind can’t be expected to react at lightning speeds, and this can be dangerous.

This is why people who are taking certain types of medication are advised not to drive or handle heavy machinery for the duration of the course.
