21 Health Benefits of Vitamin E

Search Articles Here

Vitamin E is a highly beneficial nutrient that has a huge range of different healthy advantages when you get enough of it in your diet. This is something of a wonder drug and of course is well known for its ability to help improve the skin… but did you know that it is also able to help boost your heart health, prevent blocked arteries, combat diabetes, fend off Alzheimer’s disease and much more?

On top of all that, vitamin E also has benefits for the eyes, it can help to combat impotence in men and it is even useful for the healthy development of the fetus in pregnant mothers.

So, for all these reasons, it is crucial to ensure that you get enough vitamin E in your diet. But the advantages go beyond even just those obvious ones. In this post, we’ll look at some fantastic reasons to make sure you are getting more vitamin E in your diet – 21 reasons to be precise!

Vitamin E is technically referred to as alpha-tocopherol, which is a fat soluble substance found largely in green vegetables, nuts, seeds and fruits.

1.  Moisturizing

Firstly, vitamin E works perfectly as a moisturizer and this is one of the key reasons that it is found in so many different skin care products. As you will likely know, the skin needs moisture just like the rest of your body. Hydration will nourish the skin and prevent things like flaking, peeling and cracking. For these reasons, some people will even recommend breaking open capsules of vitamin E and then using the gel from within directly on their faces!

Why does this work? Because vitamin E is an oil soluble (fat soluble nutrient). This makes it ‘heavier’ than water soluble products and that means it can help to restore lost moisture.

We’re going to see many more benefits of vitamin E over the course of this post that focus specifically on the skin. In many ways, vitamin E is the ultimate skin panacea, so if you’re suffering with dry, broken or acne-prone skin… then you’re in the right place!
