15 Signs that you have contracted Trichomoniasis

Search Articles Here

A sexually transmitted infection (STI) that is caused by a parasite, and happens to have a quite elaborate interesting name is Trichomoniasis.  This is one you won’t hope to run into when on your sexual pursuits or excursions.  It is highly treatable, though… so that’s the good news.  It resolves within a few days up to a few weeks, depending on the severity of the case.

It typically receives a diagnosis which is followed by a prescribed treatment (prescription included – typically a large dose oral antibiotic) for both sexual partners.  It is transmitted via any sexual contact.  It can cause premature birth in women.  Men typically have no symptoms.  Nicknamed:  the trich.  Ages most documented with this diagnosis range heavily between 14 – 40 years of age.  According to the Center for Disease Control in 2017, this is listed as a “very common” STI.

1. Foul-Smelling Vaginal Discharge

This has been described even as “frothy”… this is a real case here… a real piece of work on this particular STI.  You really don’t want this one.  Though it is treatable, it’s something to avoid like the plague, so to speak.  This has one of the worst cases of vaginal discharge in its category… as one can tell by the “frothy” and “foul” terms.  This symptom stands alone… if you experience this, go to your doctor immediately, same day.

This is a priority.  Do not put it off.  Also, contact your partner immediately and let them know.  You can tell them the results of lab testing later.  Public health is of utmost importance… let’s kick this STI out of the United States by not spreading it.  Let’s let this STI die with our generation by being responsible sexual participants, or monogamists, or whatever.
