3. Take Cold Showers
This isn’t the most obvious option, especially considering as being very cold can make you red in itself!
But the reason this is useful is that some people believe rosacea to be a condition caused by issues with circulation and the blood vessels. This is why we often look redder in the face after a walk, or after physical exercise. The face becomes ‘flushed’ because the blood has rushed to the head and stayed trapped there.
Taking a cold shower then might help to reduce your body temperature and set you up for a day of looking a little less red.
But what’s better, is that in the long term, taking lots of cold showers could help to train your ‘thermal regulation’. In other words, it could help your body to become better at changing its own temperature by manipulating the vascular smooth muscle. Suffice to say that this could help you to deal with temperature fluctuations in a way that doesn’t cause you to suddenly look red and blotchy.
There are strategies for using cold showers that have proven highly effective. Some of these are taught by the living legend Wim Hof – you should check them out!
