15 Home Remedies for Kidney Stones Prevention

Search Articles Here

Kidney stones can be very painful, and many people find that they get them often. There are medications that can be taken to help dissolve kidney stones so you can pass them. Still, you have to suffer through a few days of pain and wait for the medicine to kick in. Even when it does work, you still have to pass the kidney stones, and that pain can be excruciating.

Most people agree that it’s better to prevent kidney stones if possible. While your doctor may have a prescription for preventing them, some people prefer to use natural methods. These home remedies are all great options for preventing kidney stones from forming. They can also help break down kidney stones if you already have them so you can pass them easier.

Many of these remedies also work for treating other health problems, and the ingredients are packed with nutrients and vitamins that will make you healthier in general.

1. Water

If you have kidney stones, you need to get them to pass as fast as possible. One of the best ways to do that is to flush them from your system. Water is the best way to do that. You should drink as much water as possible.

Water can also help prevent you from getting kidney stones. It continues to move things through your kidneys so stones can’t form or attach themselves to your kidneys.  It’s important to drink plenty of water no matter what, but if you are prone to kidney stones, you should drink even more.

Many people can feel kidney stones coming on and start to drink more water to flush them out before they get too big or before they even fully form in the kidneys. Plain water is best, but if you need some flavor, add a few drops of orange or lemon juice. The acid can also help break down the stones and prevent them.
