Search Articles Here

Deriving from a leafy plant called the Melaleuca alternifolia, tea tree oil is well renowned for its many uses, all of them beneficial. For thousands of years, tea tree oil has been harvested and harnessed for an array of medical and household properties. Many hundreds of scientific studies, for instance, detail the fact that tea tree possesses very strong antimicrobial and antifungal properties, making it an excellent tool against viruses and fungal infections, as well as making it a particularly useful medical treatment against a whole host of different types of bacteria.

There are many uses for tea tree oil, 8 of them are listed here, but to give a general overview, it is fair to say that its application is wide-reaching and varied, with different people using it in many different ways. A useful tool in terms of cosmetic and hair products, tea tree oil is also a popular choice to be used for skincare and massage purposes. Here are some of its other healthy uses.

1.     Acne Treatment

Acne blights teenagers and adults throughout the world and is a leading cause of depression and anxiety in young people. There are a number of reasons why a person may develop acne, and none of them is any consolation to the person affected. All an acne sufferer wants is an effective treatment. Tea tree oil provides an option, as it is beneficial when it comes to treating acne. Interestingly, studies have shown that tea tree oil was even more effective than one of the most commonly used acne treatments, benzoyl peroxide.

It is a lot more natural too, meaning that unpleasant and unwelcome side effects, such as dry, peeling skin with a reddish appearance can be avoided. It mightn’t be the miracle cure that all acne sufferers have been waiting for, but it is certainly a viable option for people seeking a much more natural and less harmful treatment for their breakouts.
