4. Calcium
As if all the nutrients that we’ve already covered to this point wasn’t enough, calcium is another healthy ingredient in every serving of black sapote. Every 100 grams of black sapote will contain around 22 mg of calcium. The actual amount can vary a bit from one specimen to the next but 22 mg is the average number. Getting enough calcium is paramount to more than just bone health.
As a matter of fact, most areas of your body require calcium to perform their functions. For instance, the muscles in your heart need calcium in order to pump enough blood out to your other organs. Of course, your bones will also be much stronger if you get enough calcium on a daily basis. Even your teeth will be strengthened through regular calcium intake. Calcium is like a general fortifier in this sense.
