3. Osteoarthritis
Osteoarthritis is a condition that can affect anyone at any time in their life, but there is a much higher prevalence in older women.
The condition causes bones to lose their density at a much faster rate than with the normal process of aging. What this means is that fractures and bone breakages become incredibly more likely to people with the condition. Particularly for people who already had spinal issues, osteoarthritis can make life a miserable pain to endure.
The usual process that the body employs to rebuild bones and their structures is unable to keep up with the rate at which existing bone is depleted and eroded. This can result in further complications such as the development of cervical radiculopathy.
There is no known cure for osteoarthritis and the outlook for people diagnosed with this condition focuses mainly on two areas, pain management and functional movement, something which becomes harder and harder with the condition.
