2. Limping
Limping is a very common sign of an avulsion fracture. This is due to the amount of pain that will be felt in the affected area, along with the loss of strength and mobility.
The confusion is that this limping can also be associated with a number of other symptoms that we will see in a moment. In the case of an avulsion fracture affecting the ankle, this will have completely removed the connection between one tendon or ligament and the surrounding bone.
This, of course, results in a lot of pain and a severe loss of movement, meaning that the limp may appear to be much more pronounced and the individual may be unable to place any significant weight on it at all due to the pain.
It is recommended to get support until you are home.
