14 Frequent Signs of Amyloidosis

Search Articles Here

Amyloidosis is a common health condition that affects millions of people across the world every year – and might affect you or someone you know right now. The condition is characterized by the presence of proteins lodged in the body’s tissue, which can often affect the entire body and cause a large range of varying symptoms – these include everything from appetite loss through to bleeding.

As far as science can tell so far, there’s no known cure for the condition – but if you or someone you know is ever diagnosed with Amyloidosis, either light chain (also known as AL) or inflammatory (known as AA), the condition can be managed effectively for the long-term.

If you suspect any of the symptoms of amyloidosis, it’s vital to see a doctor for the proper tests to establish whether or not it presents a danger to your health.

Here are 8 frequent signs of amyloidosis that you should watch out for.

1. Increased Frequency to Bruise

An increased frequency to bruise can be a potential symptom of amyloidosis, which usually starts to happen as the body tissue degenerates due to the proteins being present and the further progression of the disease. This is a symptom that should always be taken seriously and reported to your doctor when noticed – an increased frequency to bruise is always something, and there are a few potential things that can cause it.

Sometimes it’s an easily missed symptom in the elderly because of the fact that it’s an almost expected part of getting older – but any changes in bruising should be noted and reported to a medical professional, regardless of the patient’s age at the time the symptom appears.

It can sometimes indicate bleeding or clotting issues, problems with the liver or kidneys and – especially when spotted with other symptoms that appear on this list – also sometimes point towards having amyloidosis.
