Search Articles Here

Cashews are a very popular nut throughout the world because of their sweet, salty, and buttery flavor. In reality, cashews are not really nuts at all, but rather are seeds because they grow attached to a fruit. The scientific name for them is the Anacardium occidentale. Cashews were first found growing in Brazil and not long after began being exported. Now they are grown in many areas that offer a subtropical climate.

Cashews are widely consumed and offer a great amount of flexibility to be included in a number of different types of dishes. Not only are these seeds very versatile and taste great, but they also provide numerous vitamins and minerals that the body needs and offer many great health benefits. They may be small, but they pack a powerful punch. Here are 13 benefits of cashews that you may not have known.

1. Building Blood

When it comes to the body you already know that your blood is very important. After all, this is what carries all of the important nutrients throughout your body. One of the ways to improve the production of red blood cells in the body is to eat cashews. Cashews contain a high amount of iron and copper. Both of these are very important for the production of red blood cells.

Red blood cells are what carry hemoglobin throughout the body. Hemoglobin is the protein that oxygen binds to. This enables the oxygen supply to be carried throughout the body. Eating cashews regularly will help to benefit your blood count. This can bolster your energy levels in the process. If you are feeling sluggish, try eating some cashews as they can help improve the blood flow of the body so that you are getting proper amounts of oxygen.
