Pinkish lamps that have odd shapes, yet beautiful shapes and emit a soft glow have become all the rage. Known as Himalayan salt lamps, there’s are some very good reasons why these lamps are becoming so popular.

Himalayan salt lamps are made of sea salt that is derived dried remnants of the primal sea, which dates back to the time the planet was created. The salt that is used for these lamps is carved by hand from underground mines located in Khewra, Pakistan, the only location where true Himalayan salt can be found. The block of salt is hollowed out and a light bulb is placed inside, which illuminates and heats the salt. It is believed that Himalayan sea salt offers a variety of benefits by simply being within close proximity to it. The lamps are actually made of the beautiful soft pink Himalayan salt.
While they can illuminate a room, they are not actually used for the lighting that they provide.
Rather, these lamps are said to offer several benefits, from reducing pollution in the air, to easing conditions that affect the respiratory system, such as allergies and asthma.

1. Promotes a more restful sleep

If you struggle with falling asleep or staying asleep, you should consider placing a Himalayan salt lamp in your bedroom. Many people have said that sleeping with one of these salt lamps in their sleeping quarters not only helps them fall asleep, but also improves the quality of their sleep. Positive ions in the air are said to limit the supply of oxygen and blood to the brain, which can have a negative impact on sleep. It is believed that Himalayan salt lamps put out negative ions, evening out positive ions in the air.
